SPIRITUAL WINDOW SHOPPING  Part 1

Most women like window shopping…

True or false?

Window shopping involves going to the supermarket, mall or grocery store to check out the price of items with the aim of returning to pick them up or buy them later.

  • Spiritual window shopping is when you just go round scriptures without living the life of the scriptures
  • It means going through scriptures without applying it to your situation or claiming it’s promises for your everyday life

Do you know that some people go to church just to window shop? They look for the fine Bae and handsome dude…ops..they just know that the hottest babes are in church these days…

Please pause and ask yourself…am I a spiritual windowshopper?

The real buyers are those that are interested in allowing the word of God take root in them and producing godly fruits…some 30, 60 and 100

Today, we are going to see how some people went only to do spiritual window shopping and lost their divine inheritance. For forty-five years, they wandered in the wilderness, a lot of them did not believe God’s promises despite the miracles done before their very own eyes. Herbert Locker in his research said, there are 7,457 promises in the bible, which of them have you claimed?

A lot of Christians today are still wandering in the wilderness of life, working about without results. It is my prayer that you shall see results as you work intentionally and deliberately with purpose in Jesus name. Amen

Text: Numbers 13:26-33

Now they departed and came back to Moses and Aaron and all the congregation of the children of Israel in the Wilderness of Paran, at Kadesh; they brought back word to them and to all the congregation, and showed them the fruit of the land. Then they told him, and said: “We went to the land where you sent us. It truly flows with milk and honey, and this is its fruit. Nevertheless the people who dwell in the land are strong; the cities are fortified and very large; moreover we saw the descendants of Anak there. The Amalekites dwell in the land of the South; the Hittites, the Jebusites, and the Amorites dwell in the mountains; and the Canaanites dwell by the sea and along the banks of the Jordan.” Then Caleb quieted the people before Moses, and said, “Let us go up at once and take possession, for we are well able to overcome it.” But the men who had gone up with him said, “We are not able to go up against the people, for they are stronger than we.” And they gave the children of Israel a bad report of the land which they had spied out, saying, “The land through which we have gone as spies is a land that devours its inhabitants, and all the people whom we saw in it are men of great stature. There we saw the giants ( the descendants of Anak came from the giants); and we were like grasshoppers in our own sight, and so we were in their sight.”

From the above scripture, we can see two categories of people. Those who believed in the word of God and the other set ….who were spiritual window shoppers….it still baffles me till today why they didn’t believe the report of Joshua and Caleb…these people had seen the finger of God. They had seen God part the red sea. Fight their battles and perform other miracles right before their eyes. Yet they believed an evil report because of their mindset. They saw themselves like grasshoppers before the giants. Why such comparism?

I have some questions for you…

  • What kind of mindset do you have?
  • What is that giant standing in front of you.
  • What is thatobstacle looking at you in the face?
  • Today I want you to go out and succeed. Look at the obstacle in the face and take it on.

You will succeed…watch out for part 2
